This was my first custom firearm. I own a Beretta, a Sig-Sauer, a S&W, and a couple of Colt revolvers. This is by far the finest handgun I have ever owned or shot. Took it to the range for the first time today. W-O-W!!! Shoots like an absolute dream. Less recoil than I expected by far (probably largely due to the weight of the firearm - but I am not planning on carrying this so not an issue). I let a couple other guys at the range try it (far more knowledgeable than me about handguns) and they were blown away. Could not believe how smooth the trigger was and how little recoil it had (they were shooting Glocks, a S&W, and a Kimber). Thanks to Rob who answered my questions without making me feel like a newbie! Great ordering and buying experience. They told me it might take 3-4 weeks, but I received it in about a week and a half. Can't wait to get to the range again and to let some of my friends try it as well. If you are considering this firearm as a potential choice - read the forums online and watch the youtube videos. I see now why there is almost a cultish following of CZ and of Angus Hobdell's shop!

I have had this gun for about 3 months, and have just shot the snot out of it (approx 4500 rounds, a lot for me), there hasn't been a single gun malfunction or hicup of any kind. I use to shoot one of the higher dollar pistols but, enough said about that. If anyone really wants to enjoy the sport of USPSA Production, in my opion this is the only way to go. I just started USPSA this year and have been spending more time on the practice range than shooting range but I will get there eventually. I highly recomment the Angus touched Shadow.

I like the weight and feel of the CZs better than my polymer-framed guns, especially for competition. The first thing I noticed when I got the Shadow was the very short trigger reset compared to the Tactical. The overall "trigger job" on this pistol is wonderful, and the quality of the pistol is simply excellent, both inside and out. CZ Custom can build the Shadow to order with some of your preferences (magazine release switched for lefties, different grips, different sights) at little additional cost, so I suggest talking with them before you order so that you get exactly that you want. I made two very minor improvements to make my Shadow work better in competition: I polished the feed ramp and stripped the finish off the magazines so that they are shiny. The former was done to eliminate feeding problems when soot built up on the ramp, the latter was done to get the magazines to drop free quickly. Parts for these pistols are not exorbitantly priced, and the service and responsiveness you get from CZ Custom/Ghost Products are the best I've ever seen from anyone in that business. Although $1,200 is not a small sum, if you spend it on a Shadow you will receive excellent value and performance, and you'll never regret the purchase.

Just got it a couple of weeks ago. It's awesome. very accurate. Shot an egg, standing free style, at 25 yards, on my third round. Better than the gun is the service @ this CZ Custom Shop. It's one of the best in the industry. Thanks, Rob.
