Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

My safety goes on with the Pistol Hammer in Half Cock or Fully Down
Engaging the Safety
Push the safety up to the Safety-On position (Fig.
5) until the red warning dot is
covered. The safety in this position blocks the trigger mechanism and slide, thus preventing the pulling of the trigger and operating the slide.
Since the trigger mechanism has been specifically adjusted, it is possible to move the safety onto the "SAFE" position even if the hammer is placed on the safety notch or leaned against the slide. In this case, however, it is not
recommended to engage the safety because the trigger mechanism might be damaged when cocking the hammer by force.
Besides the method previously described it is possible to put the pistol into a safety mode and still be ready to fire immediately:

Who may ship handguns through the U.S. Postal Service?
Federal firearm licensees may send an unloaded handgun in the mail to another FFL in customary trade shipments. Handguns also may be mailed to any officer, employee, agent, or watchman who is eligible under 18 U.S.C. 1715 to receive pistols, revolvers, and other firearms capable of being concealed on the person for use in connection with his or her official duties.

However, postal service regulations must be followed. Any person proposing to mail a handgun must file with the postmaster, at the time of mailing, an affidavit signed by the addressee stating that the addressee is qualified to receive the firearm, and the affidavit must bear a certificate stating that the firearm is for the official use of the addressee. See the current Postal Manual for details.

The Postal Service recommends that all firearms be sent by registered mail and that no marking of any kind which would indicate the nature of the contents be placed on the outside of any parcel containing firearms.

Can you tell me how much shipping will cost for my order?

You do not have to purchase at this point, it can be used just for reference of shipping and handling cost.

I wish to buy xxxxxxxx
How can I order this, as it is not listed on your web site?
We strive to keep as many parts in stock as possible at all times, but we are often regulated by what the US distributor has in stock and how many, we try to not list parts that we cannot get a consistent supply of.
Often we can get these parts as a special order. Which depending on your requirements may take considerable time and may hold up your original order if you have one.

I ordered a part from your web site because there was no indication that it was not in stock.
Why do you continue to allow people to buy parts that are not in stock?
When are we supposed to know when it will be in stock?
We always try to maintain correct stock control, but sometimes due to unforeseen circumstance the websites stock quantities may differ.
We strive to get replacement parts as quick as possible and are sorry if there is a delay in shipping your part.
If we do not have the part in stock and have no accurate idea of when we will have it, we normally cancel the item and refund the cost.
I you wish we can hold the complete order until we have all the parts but there is no guarantee on time frame if you choose this option, please add this request to your notes when ordering

I want to replace the standard front sight on my CZ pistol with a Fiber Optic front sight.
I do not wish to replace the rear sight. What size do I need?
CZ factory pistols (exception is the TS and Kadet which come with 7.5mm High) are fitted with a 5.5mm High front sight (when measured from the bottom of the sight to the top of the sight, with the sight OUT of the slide).
So the correct sight for a factory gun would be any 5.5mm replacement sight we sell.
(Unless it is TS or Kadet)

Can you ship Hi Capacity magazines to a state that has a capacity restriction? If not, can you strip the magazine into component parts and ship them separately?
Simple answer is no, we have to comply with all federal and state laws.
I'm looking for a firearm that is on the California Department Of Justice(CA DOJ) handgun Roster; can you ship 2 10round magazines instead of the Hi Capacity magazines?
No problem, the law does not allow us the ship Hi Capacity magazine to certain states so we always swap the magazines for the appropriate legal magazine.

Is there any way to convert a non-decocker to a decocker?
No, the cuts in the frame are different.
I have a decocker style factory pistol, is there anyway to convert it to Single Action Only?
Unfortunately it is not possible, if this was done the pistol would not have a manual safety so it would not be safe in the SA Only mode.

I have a CZ 75 pistol with a creepy, hard and mushy trigger. Would the 85 trigger installed by you and tuned, take care of this otherwise superb pistol?
No the 85 combat trigger will make no difference to the trigger pull on the gun, having a trigger job which includes the Comp hammer, fitted will take care of this

Can you supply your SP-01 shadow with 5", Similar to the guns shipped to Australia and Denmark?
Sorry No. We have tried to get these barrels from CZUB but as yet have not been able to purchase them.

I have heard that the Kadet conversion kit will not fit the 75B Omega.
What is the specific reason for this?
The firing pin lifter on the Omega and P07 are different configuration and the slot in the slide of the Kadet does not allow for this, so you cannot physically put the slide onto either the Omega or the Kadet

Firing pin blocks on CZ Pistols
As of this moment the only CZ pistols that are not fitted with firing pin blocks are:
CZ 75 Sp01 Shadow
CZ 85 Combat
CZ Tactical Sports

All other have firing pin block fitted
the B designation in the nomenclature on the slide
I.E. CZ75B indicates the presence of the firing pin block.

Does xxxxxx part fit my EAA / Tangfolgio pistol?
So far we have ascertained that almost no parts interchange without substantial re profiling and fitting.

CZ 75 Over Travel Screw Info
Over Travel Screw
The over travel screw should not be set too fine.
The TEST WITH NO BULLETS IN THE GUN.

Pull the trigger all the way to the rear as if firing and hold tight at the back of the trigger guard.
Rock the hammer back and forth and see and feel if the sear is hitting the hammer hooks...
If there is any contact at all, the Over travel screw needs backing out more, ie away from the frame, then test again.
There is no specific distance for the over travel screw.
This the same test for 1911, if the sear and hammer contact, then sear / hammer hook DAMAGE WILL OCCUR.

Over travel screw on ALL firearms not just CZ's do move. This test should be carried out if there seem to be any issues.
If we get guns returned this is the first test we do to ascertain if the over travel screw has being badly adjusted and that has caused the damage.

This is NOT a warranty defect....   It is a badly adjusted screw.

I was hoping you could tell me if the CZ P-01 and CZ compact (steel frame) have the same internal components or if they are different, requiring different replacement parts?
The P01 is a Decoker and the Compact is an SA DA gun, some parts will interchange, but nothing from the internal fire mechanism, except the trigger.

I am looking for a part on your website, which I know was originally there. Did you stop selling this part?
We always try to maintain correct stock control, but sometimes due to unforeseen circumstance the websites stock quantities may differ.
Sometimes when we do not have a part, we find it necessary to switch the product off, so it cannot be purchased, we obviously try not to do this and prefer for it to reclassify itself as out of stock.

Is it possible to fit the CZ TS Extended Ambi Safety LHS (Item Number: 10226) on the SP01 Shadow?
No, there is a specific part for the CZ 75 Shadow, which actually will fir in several other models of CZ 75.
The boss and the spindle on the TS safety are both longer, to accommodate the wider frame of the Tactical Sports (TS)

Fitting a CZ Front Sight
Fitting Front Sight
Remove the roll pin using the appropriate punch http://czcustom.com/czpunch.aspx
Tap the old front sight out (towards the muzzle) using an appropriate soft hammer or soft block

Replace the new front sight into the dovetail and tap it toward the back of the gun until it seats in the rear of the dovetail cut. Make sure it goes all the way back.

Using the correct drill, http://czcustom.com/CZ_Front_Sight_Drill.aspx
Drill through the roll pin hole (IMPORTANT) Drill from the left side of the gun to the right side, Drill cut clockwise and drilling from this direction will not cause the front sight to walk out as the drill starts to cut.

Replace the front sight pin, new pins are available http://czcustom.com/czfrontsightpin.aspx

Why is shipping one small part so much?

We get this question frequently. We ship Priority mail with the post office since it has tracking. We have tried in the past to ship First Class Mail but due to the high incident of lost parcels we were forced to stop this practice. We have to pay transaction fees to the credit card companies, website hosting companies and the employees that monitor pack and ship the orders. So while I agree that shipping can be high for a small item the cost of the small order is higher than you might realize. Most companies have a minimum order of $25 or higher and charge a fee for a smaller order. We don’t follow that practice. Perhaps add some other items to the order like recoil springs they "per CZ-UB" should be changed every 3000 rounds anyway.
